No longer am I searching, seeking, striving, forging through obstacles with the determination and vigor of my younger years. Instead, I sit. I listen.
Yesterday I shared conversation with a younger version of me. The whirlwind passion of youth, the courage and excitement of finding her own way to walk the path.
Her visit brings awareness of my own walk. No longer am I searching, seeking, striving, forging through obstacles with the determination and vigor of my younger years.
Instead, I sit. I listen.
I am quiet, and in the quiet I open and soften.
Deep peace.

the striving for eternal youth
which now seems endemic in society saddens me. you describe well the gift of ageing. having led a hectic youth, i am appreciating the quiet, contemplative life i have now.
an unexpected and sweet gift.
Without question or hesitation, I would much rather be wrinkled and wise than young appearance and foolish.
Either way, I am growing older whether I fight it or not.
Accepting and embracing ourselves with gentle peace is so much more fulfilling than madly scrambling to become something we are not, hm?
Acceptance comes in an instant; arrival never happens when we are rushing toward fulfillment.
