Allow mindful breath to transform anxiety into excitement.
They say the difference between anxiety and excitement is breathing.
I feel like I’m teetering on the edge between the two today, so my check-in reminder for myself today is mindful breathing.
Big stuff, big changes happening. An amazing opportunity has swept its way over my entire life, cleverly disguised as a fairly major disaster. It would be easy to panic, but there’s an undercurrent of something greater, a deeper wisdom, that tells me that this is the best thing that could have happened at this time.
So I breathe, allowing the transformation of anxiety into excitement. I feel it in my body. My shoulders, back and legs release and relax. Ahhhhhh….
When I try to make sense of the situation according to the comfortable little boxes in which I habitually categorize everything in my life, it’s a frighteningly impossible situation.
But when I open my eyes to a different, deeper, more open way of looking at the world around me (and myself), the situation appears before me like a gift wrapped with a big red bow, just waiting for me to pull the ribbon and set the possibilities free.
Mindful breathing. Relax into the journey. Face forward. Chin up.
Onward!
